know your limits
To unleash your strength, you will have to know your limits well. Unless you know your limit, you cannot try to go beyond it. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is very first thing to realise your goal. For example, if you cannot retain long what your learn, you cannot use those learning when you need those learning to assist you in your further learning. You learnt 2×2=4 and forget it, you will never use it again in further learning. So, it is very much determining to know your retention ability.
The above example may appear funny to you but I can show you several people who are having retention problem. Here with the above mentioned example, I want to pursuade you to determine your strengths as well as your weaknesses. Otherwise you will wander in the forest full of mazes and you will forget your path to come out of even one such maze. Here forest is metaphor of your dreams and desires and mazes are your ways of finding exist.
A young learner when start using his thinking ability, he starts dreaming to become what he thinks the most lucrative and glamorous. This is one part of one's determining goal and this is the most loving one but only fascination and charm cannot make you able enough to accomplish the task which you find so fascinating.
Now I am sharing one real life story of a famed dancer, Raghav Juyal. Those who are very fond of dancing know him well. Mr. Juyal is often called King of slow motion for his dance moves. In one of his interviews, he himself said that he was very slow learner in his class and one day he thought himself to bring this character of being slow in his dances and in his dance moves. After that he practised it to this perfection.
So with above mentioned example you can understand, why is it important to know your strengths and weaknesses well. Once you do it, you have already crossed the threshold of your limitations. Set aside your charm to something or fascination for someone. Look inside yourself before looking towards another thing. Introspect well and you will be able to set your goal.
In my next post of this series, I will discuss how to set our goal. Till then good bye
